Year-in-review, DJ Business Directors, and more.

Yes it's The Handle, True’s occasional newsletter.

What did Santa bring True this year? An array of wonderful new clients. A team of wonderful new employees. A bunch of wonderful new work. New wonderful friends in the building with PR Partners (who also brought in some wonderful new dogs). And some wonderful new baby Trubies.

Where in the world is Debbie Currie? 🌎✈️

Our Group Business Director extraordinaire is living it up in the Big Apple for the holidays – she’s going to be DJing her brother’s wedding. If it goes well, she might just DJ our next client party (look out!).

Inspo Rando – Christmas Edition 🎄🎅🏻

The True Creative Department has a roundup of some of their favourite Christmas things from this year.

Grinchy

Which Grinch stole Christmas best? While we love anything with Walton Goggins in it, the loot goes to McDonald’s, who created a grinchy green menu complete with dill pickle salt. The best thing McDonald’s have done this Christmas.

Your Tree on Battersea

What came first, the idea or the name? Either is perfect for Apple UK’s big Christmas activation.

Waitrose – The Perfect Gift

If you’re going to use a celebrity, lean into who they are. Keira Knightley is an instant shorthand for Christmas rom-com, and Joe Wilkinson is an instant shorthand for Joe Wilkinson.

Salami Advent Calendar

The Czech Republic know how to celebrate.

Santa’s Little Billboard

This is a bit of a cheat, but: the first episode of The Simpsons was a Christmas Special where Homer and Bart rescue a greyhound dog named Santa’s Little Helper. So, Special’s work for New Zealand Greyhounds is our favourite New Zealand Christmas campaign.

And free idea for an antihistamine company: a Christmas tree ornament that contains a month’s supply of hayfever pills. You don’t need to give us the credit, just send some our way. Achoo.

Christmas Party Catering

A huge shoutout to the Lebanese Grocer who provided the catering for the True Christmas Party. It tasted delicious, it was presented beautifully, it didn’t break the bank, and they’re lovely folks. Be sure to think about them next time you’re catering a small event.

Huge thanks to everyone we crossed paths with this year, from clients, to suppliers, to production people. Enjoy some time off with your loved ones and let’s all make next year even better.

Merry Christmas!
